Introduction.
There are no shortcuts to any place worth going.

The road to the Rapture goes through the Upper Room. there are no shortcuts.
Acts 1:1 KJV 1900
The former treatise have I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach,
Acts 1:2 KJV 1900
Until the day in which he was taken up, after that he through the Holy Ghost had given commandments unto the apostles whom he had chosen:
Acts 1:3 KJV 1900
To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God:
Acts 1:4 KJV 1900
And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me.
Acts 1:5 KJV 1900
For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.
What were thy waiting for?
John 14:15 KJV 1900
If ye love me, keep my commandments.
Full, now watch, fully, now, fully obedience to the whole Word of God entitles us to the Token.     63-0901M - Token
160 When you fully obey the Word of God, in full surrender to It, you’re entitled to the Token. Yes, sir. Obedience! “Not he that saith, ‘Lord, Lord,’ but he that doeth the will.”  63-1128E - The Token
118 Full obedience to the full Word of God entitles us to the Token. No other way is there, that you could ever be entitled to the Token, until you fully obey the Word.
Not what somebody has put into It, and added to It; but what God said about It!
119 When He said, “You must be born again.” That don’t mean jump up-and-down at the altar; that don’t mean walk back there and shake hands with the pastor; that don’t mean all this foolishness that we’ve seen done;
it don’t mean putting your name on a church book. It means death to your first being, and Life to the second being.
It means that the Blood has been applied, and you’re identified by the Life of Jesus Christ.
And if He be the Vine, and we be the branches, the Life that’s in the branch is in the…also from the Vine. It’ll bear the fruit.
120 If that first branch come forth, that branch out of that Vine, that wrote a book of Acts behind it; if that branch ever puts forth…Vine puts forth another branch, they’ll write another Book of Acts behind it, ’cause it’s the same Life.
122 What we need, today, is another baptism of the Holy Spirit, and have the real Power of God that identifies the works that Jesus Christ promised for this day, not so much as that day, this day, the promise that He made here.
That was what He promised there, He would pour out His Spirit. Now He has promised it again in the last days, and what He would do. 64-0208 - The Token
Full obedience to the whole Word of God entitles you to the Token, and nothing else. “Blessed is he that does all of His Commandments, he might have right to the Tree of Life.”    64-0308 - The Token
John 14:16 KJV 1900
And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;
John 14:17 KJV 1900
Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
John 14:18 KJV 1900
I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.
John 14:19 KJV 1900
Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also.
John 14:20 KJV 1900
At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.
John 14:21 KJV 1900
He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
John 14:22 KJV 1900
Judas saith unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world?
John 14:23 KJV 1900
Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.
John 14:24 KJV 1900
He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father’s which sent me.
John 14:25 KJV 1900
These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you.
John 14:26 KJV 1900
But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
Now when God is silent we had better be silent. But where He has spoken we had better speak, too, and say what He has already said.
He told us the evidence, or what would happen after being baptized with the Holy Ghost was that we would have the Teacher come and teach all truth.
But that Teacher was an INSIDE teacher, not an outside teacher. If the Spirit wasn’t inside, you wouldn’t hear the truth and receive it by revelation if you heard it every moment of the day.
That was the sign of the indwelling Spirit in the days of Paul. Those who were filled with the Holy Ghost heard the Word, received it and lived by it.
Those who did not have the Spirit heard it only as carnal men, put a wrong interpretation on it and went into sin.
In every age, (and every age is the age of the Holy Ghost for the true believer) — I say, in every age the evidence was the same.
Those who had the Spirit, the Teacher, heard the Word, and that Spirit in them took the Word and taught it (revealed it) to them;
and they were of the group that heard the messenger and his message and took it and lived it. CAB 04 - Smyrnaen
Acts 1:6 KJV 1900
When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?
Acts 1:7 KJV 1900
And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.
Acts 1:8 KJV 1900
But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
Acts 1:9 KJV 1900
And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.
Acts 1:10 KJV 1900
And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel;
Acts 1:11 KJV 1900
Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.
Acts 1:12 KJV 1900
Then returned they unto Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is from Jerusalem a sabbath day’s journey.
Acts 1:13 KJV 1900
And when they were come in, they went up into an upper room, where abode both Peter, and James, and John, and Andrew, Philip, and Thomas, Bartholomew, and Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon Zelotes, and Judas the brother of James.
Acts 1:14 KJV 1900
These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.
(Bro. Branham relates the story of a Catholic Reporter who came to interview him early in his ministry at Grant’s Pass, Oregon.)
And let me tell you something right now. Virgin Mary and them was right among them. That’s right. And if God wouldn’t respect the holy virgin Mary to get to heaven any other way besides receive the Holy Ghost, woman, what about you?
That’s right. You’ll have to pay the same price, get the same experience, have the same thing that they had back there at the beginning.   50-0716 - Believest Thou This?
52 When the church was inaugurated on the day of Pentecost, very beautiful type of the first manna falling, they was all up there in the upper room in one accord;
and suddenly there came from heaven a sound like a rushing mighty wind, filled all the house where they were setting. Cloven tongues appeared on them, was like fire.
They were all filled with the Holy Ghost and out into the street they went, screaming and shouting and going on.
And all the religious world standing out there said, “Well, these guys are drunk. They’re full of new wine. Well, listen at them. I never heard such a noise in my life.”
Let me tell you something, my dear Catholic friend, here this afternoon: The blessed virgin Mary was with them. That’s right. And if God…Listen here, now you that think you’re starchy; look.
If God wouldn’t have respect no more the mother of Jesus Christ, and she couldn’t get into heaven until she went up there and received the baptism of the Holy Ghost and act like a drunk woman, how much more you got to have It before you get in there? That’s right.
53 And she staggered like she was drunk (Hallelujah.), staggering like a drunk person. Oh, you ever hear a drunkard saying, “Oh, everything’s just fine.”
Now, “be not drunk upon strong drink, but be drunk on the Spirit.” Hallelujah. That’s what we need today is an old fashion drunken baptism of the Holy Ghost that burns out sin, double cure, an old-time backwoods, sky-blue, sin-killing religion. Hallelujah.
What the world needs today is an old fashion Saint Paul’s revival and the Bible Holy Ghost back in the church. Amen.
That’s what’s the matter with the church today, the reason so formal and indifferent. Yes, sir. 53-0906A - Believest Thou This?
I said, “Now, wait. You worship Mary. And the virgin Mary, before God would ever put the wedding garment on her, she had to go up the day of Pentecost and get so full of the Spirit, till she staggered like she was drunk. You ain’t coming in anything less.”
Just remember that. Yes, sir. “And that was, as you call, the mother of God.” See? I said, “If virgin Mary had to go to Pentecost and get the Holy Ghost before she could ever go to Heaven, you’ll never get in; anything less.
“Oh, that isn’t so.” I said, “Do you believe the Bible? Here it is. And Mary was right with them in the upper room. And she got so full of the Spirit until she danced under the Spirit, acting like somebody drunk.
And you think you’ll get to heaven anything less than that? You’ll never do it. Yes, sir. Virgin Mary and all the rest of them had to come the way of the Lord’s despised few.” 59-0415A - God's Provided Way
Before Mary could enter into the Kingdom, she had to go up in the upper room. And she had to wait there like the rest of them did.
Not until some minister came and put her name on the book, or not when there was some kind of a communion given, or someone shook her hand, or wrote her a letter for her church as we do today.
But there came from heaven a sound like a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were setting.
And they went from those rooms speaking in other languages, so filled with the Holy Ghost until they were staggering like drunk people.
The Bible said so. And if Mary had to go get that kind of a religion to be in glory, you’ll never get there anything short of it. 59-0418 - A Time Of Decision
I imagine to see the virgin Mary, to some of you Catholic people. It’s kind of a bitter dose for her after giving birth to the Son of God, but yet, before she could ever go into heaven,
she had to climb that little old outside ladder that led up into the upper room, and stay there until she was so full of the Holy Ghost till she staggered like she was drunk.
And if God made Mary do that before she went in, how are you going in anything less than that? God’s going to say, “Why, didn’t you?” You’re going to be asked to give a reason. “Why, didn’t you?” 60-0309 - Why?
121 A woman said to me, Grants Pass, Oregon, some time ago, Catholic girl come out there to condemn and write up.
She was a newspaper reporter, pack of cigarettes in her hand. And she said, “I want to talk to you.”
I said, “What is it you want to say?” She said, “I wanted to ask you some questions about this religion of yours.” And I said, “What is it you want to ask?” And she said, “By what authority you do this?”
122 I said, “In the Name of Jesus Christ, by a Divine call.” And she went ahead, smarting off. I said, “Just a minute.”
She said, “If I had to associate with that bunch of ignoramuses up there,” she said, “I wouldn’t even want to be a Christian.”
She said, “And if them…They say that them people will rule the earth someday.” She said, “I hope I’m not here.”
I said, “Don’t worry. You won’t be.” I said, “You…have to worry about that.” “Why,” she said, “all that there carrying on and screaming!”
I said, “And you claim to be a Catholic?” She said, “I am.”
123 I said, “Did you know the blessed virgin Mary had to receive the Holy Ghost and speak in tongues, and dance in the Spirit, the same way they did, before God would receive her? You call her the mother of God.”
She said, “That’s nonsense.” I said, “Just a minute. I…” “I’m not supposed to look at the Bible.”
124 I said, “Then how you going to know what is Truth or not?” She said, “I take my church’s word.”
125 I said, “This is God’s Word. Here It is right here. I challenge you to look at It. And Mary was with them up there in the upper room, and received the baptism of the Holy Ghost like the rest of them did.
And you call her the mother of God.” I said, “Then call that, ‘Bunch of trash, backwash’?” I said, “Don’t worry. You won’t be There. 63-0630E - Is Your Life Worthy Of The Gospel?
The Church never did begin at Nicaea, Rome. It begin at Pentecost. See? At Jerusalem is where the Church begin...
But, that bloody fifteen days, they accepted “Father, Son, and Holy Ghost” as a creed, instead of the Bible doctrine, “in the Name of Jesus Christ.” Through that come all the Protestant churches, born right into it, the same thing, all these other things.
The false conception of the Holy Ghost; they took, take the communion, drink the wine, “That is the holy eucharist, which means, ‘Holy Ghost.’” The priest gives it to you.
242 Now, the Bible don’t read, “When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, here come a priest up the road, collar turned around, said, ‘Lick out your tongue and take the holy eucharist.’”
No, It didn’t say, “All you people run up here and give me the righthand of fellowship, you Baptists, Methodists, and Baptists, I’ll put your name. Bring a letter from somewhere.”
243 He said, “They were all in one place, in one accord. And suddenly there came a sound from Heaven like a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the room where they were setting.
They were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
And there…” Out into the street they went, staggering like drunk men, Mary and all the rest of them, under the impact of the Holy Ghost.
Why, the people said, laughed at them, and said, “These men are full of new wine.” What was they? Blinded by a creed.
244 That little two-by-four preacher stood up there, named Peter, and he said, “You men of Judaea and you that dwell…you man of Jerusalem, that dwell in Judaea, let this be known to you, and hearken to my words.
These are not drunk. But let me tell you what the Scripture said it’ll be. This is the Light. This is the Word being manifested.” Amen.
Same thing happens today, and they do like they did then, walked away and shake their heads. Said, “Let them alone; blind leads the blind, they all fall in the ditch.”
245 Oh, it takes Christ, Eternal Life, to bring the Word of Life to the vindication, made flesh. Oh, my, goodness!
Takes the Word…takes the Holy Ghost to operate the Word of God. 63-1229M - There Is A Man Here That Can Turn On The Light
1 Corinthians 12:13 KJV 1900
For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.
86 Now we want to find how we get into Him. How do we get into this place of worship? First Corinthians 12 settles it, for, “By one Spirit!”
Not by one church, not by one creed, not by one pastor, not by one bishop, not by one priest.
But, “By one Holy Spirit we are all baptized into one Body,” which is the Body of Jesus Christ, and subject to every gift that lays in that Body. Yes, sir!
No joining, no reciting of creeds, no pumping up, letting down, handshaking, or nothing else.
But, by Birth we are baptized into the Body of Jesus Christ! Amen. “By one Holy Spirit we are all baptized into one Body.”
87 And what is that Body? “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. And the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us.”
How can we be in that Body and deny one Word of It, or place It off somewhere else that It’s not even in the Body? How can we ever do it? God’s chosen place!
88 Notice, and when you are truly baptized into Him, the true evidence is that you believe Him, the Word. 65-0220 - God's Chosen Place Of Worship
